Sculptra

Sculptura is an injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid that can help replace lost collage to provide more natural, smoother and younger looking skin. Collagen is a natural substance that keeps skin soft and smooth. Sculptra is made of a safe and synthetic material that mimics natural collagen in the body; it is both biocompatible and biodegradable. Sculptura is perfect for improving areas that appear as folds and sunken areas. The effects of Sculptra do not appear instantly, but once introduced to the skin of the face Sculptura will slowly and naturally begin to restore volume and shape to areas that have been depleted of collagen over time.

Sculptura offers gradual results that slowly soften folds and wrinkles as the treatment takes effect over the course of treatments. Typically doctors will schedule 3 sessions over several months in which they will administer custom tailored injections of Sculptura each time. This allows doctors a chance to assess any prior results and the opportunity to address any problem areas that appear thanks to Sculptra’s slow uptake rate. Results have been shown to last up to 2 years in some patients, but results will vary from person to person. In clinical trials, the effects of Sculptura were observed to last up to 2 years from the first treatment session in most patients.

Because the sessions are spread out, and because Sculptura’s full effects progress over time, your face will seem to naturally yield a more youthful and refined appearance. The fine lines and shallow areas of the face will seem to naturally fill out and it can be difficult even for patients to monitor the gradual effects as their wrinkles seem to fade more and more daily. For patients who are weary of friends and family knowing about their cosmetic procedures, Sculptra can be the perfect course of action and you can keep it your little secret.

Sculptra Aesthetic has proven to be highly effective for a number of problems, and is commonly used for:

•Marionette lines – The lines framing the mouth.
•Nasolabial folds – Smile lines.
•Chin wrinkles

Patients with a history of allergic reactions, keloid formations, hypertrophic scarring, and patients with active skin infections or inflammation should avoid using Sculptra. Sculptra is great for a number of areas on the face, but use around the eyes is not recommended.
