Persian female desiring softening of her ethnic nose and correction of a deviated septum.
Procedure:
Open rhinoplasty with repositioning of lower lateral cartilages and alar rim grafts, septoplasty and turbinoplasty.
Comment: Vertically-oriented lower lateral cartilages were identified on her preoperative exam which would cause extreme ala narrowing and nasal obstruction following rhinoplasty if her ala wasn't reinforced by repositioning the cartilage to a more horizontal direction and/or alar rim grafts.
The post surgery photos demonstrate a petite nose which is what our patient desired. |
