Question:
What are my options for a less invasive forehead lift? Is there such as thing as a minimal forehead lift procedure?
Answer:
A Botox brow lift is where the eyebrows are elevated due to injections of Botox into the muscles around the eyebrow. These muscles cause the eyebrow to come down, therefore when you inject the muscles they become relaxed and the brow goes up. The muscles that are targeted are the corrugator, procerus and orbicularis oculi. This usually lasts about three months, however the results are variable. You need an experienced injector to get the best results. Fillers can also be used to elevate the brows by putting Radiesse or hyaluronic acid in the supra-brow area. This can actually elevate the eyebrows.
However, I still recommend a surgical brow lift. An endoscopic brow lift is something that I perform which involves making three to five small incisions in the hairline and using the endoscope to elevate the eyebrow to a more youthful and natural position. It is minimally invasive because the incisions are very small as compared to the previous coronal lift where the incision is made ear to ear.
