Important Benefits You Can Get From Dermal Filler Injections

Important Benefits You Can Get From Dermal Filler Injections

Benefits of Dermal Filler InjectionsThe American Society of Plastic Surgeons recently released its annual report on cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery trends, which details the statistical data for all types of surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. Unsurprisingly, dermal filler injections were in the top five list of minimally invasive procedures. In fact, Botox had a six percent increase all on its own compared to last year and was administered 6.7 billion times. Other dermal fillers also increased in popularity by three percent and were administered 2.3 billion times. The popularity of dermal fillers is understandable; they have a number of important benefits that help patients put their best face forward.

Restoring Some Structure to the Skin

The skin gets its tightness and firmness from a bunch of different fibers, including elastin and collagen. There’s also something called hyaluronic acid that keeps your skin hydrated. After you reach your 30s, your body starts to produce less of these essential components. As you continue aging, the lack of fiber and hyaluronic acid makes your skin looser and less structured as gravity starts to take its toll. Dermal fillers can help restore some of the structure to your skin by replacing some of that hyaluronic acid and collagen. This will help your skin get back some of the firmness and hydration that keeps your skin looking fresh and healthy.

Getting Back Definition with Some Volume

Certain areas of your face, like your cheeks and chin, serve to give your face some balance and definition. When your skin starts getting looser, those areas also start to lose volume. This makes your face look flatter by causing your cheeks and chin to blend in with the rest of your face. Dermal fillers can be used to add more volume to those areas so your face has better contouring and definition.

Decreasing the Amount of Wrinkles

Lines and wrinkles appear when your skin ages and starts to lose all those important fibers. They first start showing up around your mouth and the area between your eyebrows. Dermal fillers can be injected into those and other spots to help tighten your skin and reduce the amount of wrinkles on your face.

Saving Money on Your Procedure

Your face can be rejuvenated and brightened up with a number of different surgical procedures; however, these are far and away more expensive than a dermal filler procedure. When you’re on a budget, cost can be an important factor in deciding to have a cosmetic procedure. Surgical procedures for the face cost several thousand dollars, depending on the type of procedure and the amount of work that needs to be done. Compare that to dermal fillers, which are a few hundred dollars for a procedure.

Saving Time on Your Recovery

Dermal filler procedures are minimally invasive, which means that they can be done with very minimal recovery. They’re even done without anesthesia, so you can get them done on your lunch hour during the work week. Dermal fillers can be applied in one or multiple sessions, and as often as needed.

Schedule Your Dermal Filler Appointment Today

There are a number of dermal fillers currently available on the market, but not every filler works for every patient. Some fillers work better for other patients and some are better suited for specific areas of the face. That’s why a patient consultation is really important. You can schedule one with Dr. Nassif at his practice in California by calling (310) 275-2467. Dr. Nassif will assess your problem areas and come up with a plan for improving your appearance.
