Diana Esho Shares Revision Rhinoplasty Experience Realself

Diana Esho Shares Revision Rhinoplasty Experience on RealSelf

With plastic surgery becoming so mainstream and readily accessible, it’s important for you to do some serious consideration on your options before undergoing your operation. This is especially true in selecting your surgeon; choosing the wrong doctor can have some drastic consequences and may leave you worse than before.

This is the story of Diana Esho, one of the latest patients featured on E! network’s “Botched”. Diana was born with a defect in her nose, which gave her breathing problems. Diana spent a lot of time at the doctor growing up as a result. When one of her sisters had a rhinoplasty performed on her nose and had a great result, Diana saw the same doctor to have the obstruction removed. The doctor told her that he would have to completely restructure her nose, but that he could fix her breathing problem.

Unfortunately, Diana’s experience was not like her sister’s. The recovery was difficult; she had major swelling and bruising around her eyes and was in a lot of pain for weeks. The surgery had left her nose with an upturned nasal tip, jagged scarring, and uneven nostrils. To top it all off, her breathing was still poor! Diana tried to go back to the doctor to have him fix his mistakes, but his practice had suddenly closed and she had no idea where he might be.

In the ten years following her surgery, Diana simply dealt with having an unattractive nose. She felt less than herself and was uncomfortable around her family and friends. Being around her sisters, who had had great rhinoplasty results, was especially hard. Diana’s self-confidence also took a hard blow.

Dr. Paul Nassif first appeared on Diana’s radar about eight years before she appeared on “Botched”. She had seen him on “Dr. 90210” and thought, “One day, Dr. Nassif will fix my nose.” She spent the next several years conducting research on other doctors. She read patient reviews and even scheduled consultations with a few different surgeons, but in the back of her mind Diana’s thoughts always went back to Dr. Nassif.

Diana’s instincts proved correct. Dr. Nassif was able to remove the obstruction by straightening out her septum during the revision rhinoplasty surgery and used some of Diana’s ear cartilage to elongate her nasal bridge. This effectively lowered her nasal tip to make her nose look more natural. An alar base reduction was also performed during the surgery to even out her nostrils by making external incisions at the crease where her nose meets her face. That particular step required permission from Diana’s sister, who came with Diana on the day of her surgery, because Diana was under anesthesia and couldn’t be asked personally.

When she returned to Dr. Nassif’s office the day after her surgery, Diana was in great spirits, despite the significant bruising under her eyes. “I looked even worse the last time,” she assured Dr. Nassif. Though the first few days were tough to get through, each day she got a little stronger and happier with how she looked. In an interview with RealSelf, Diana said she was “over the moon ecstatic” with her rhinoplasty results. She can breathe normally for the first time in her entire life and her nose looks exactly the way she always thought it should.

Diana is also very glad she trusted her gut in choosing Dr. Nassif. During her consultation, “He was the first doctor in 10 years that was completely on the same page as me. He didn’t want to change my entire appearance; he wanted to help me look like the best version of myself. And that’s exactly what I wanted”. RealSelf asked Diana was Dr. Nassif is really like behind the cameras, and she said, “What you see on TV is what you get with Dr. Nassif. He truly is one of the most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting… He’s hilarious and watching him interact with Dr. Dubrow made it all so fun!” In fact, Diana’s experience was so positive that she recommends anyone considering plastic surgery to call Dr. Nassif’s office to schedule a consultation.

You can read Diana’s entire post-surgery interview with RealSelf here and catch Dr. Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow every week on E! network’s newest medical reality show, “Botched”, Sunday nights at 10 PM ET/PT.
